This post-graduation course deals with the geological subjects associated with nature conservation and land-use strategies and actions. The main aims are: i) To make a post-graduation course available for people already working in state or private institutions related with nature conservation, as well as environmental NGO’s, requesting a life-long learning experience; ii) To develop the skills and expertise of young graduates; iii) To improve Science teachers awareness of education for sustainability subjects; iv) To allow the exchange of geoconservation experiences; v) To enable the development of scientific research in geoconservation with a real impact in management plans of geoparks, national parks, natural monuments, etc.

Official length - 2 years/4 semesters (120 ECTS). The completion of the lectured part of the Master Programme entitles to receive a specialisation certificate.

Admission requirements:
The minimum entry requirement is an undergraduate degree with a major in Geology, Biology, Geography, Environmental Studies or others related. The proposals will be analysed by the Organizing Committee following the internal rules of the University of Minho for post-graduation studies.
