EEG hosts the Annual Meeting of the COST VOICES Action
Back
Thursday, 4/10/2025
On April 8 and 9, 2025, the School of Economics, Management and Political Science of the University of Minho - EEG - hosted the Annual Meeting of the COST
VOICES
Action (Making Young Researchers' Voices Heard for Gender Equality).
The event brought together participants from 15 nationalities, with a wide range of skills and experiences that significantly enriched the debates on gender equality and inclusion in the academic and scientific environment.
During the two days, there were plenary sessions, workshops and
networking
moments that addressed topics such as structural barriers to gender equality and inclusion in academic careers, strategies against gender-based violence and discrimination, and the relevance of the gender perspective in research and teaching.
One of the highlights was the Round Table on Inclusivity in Academia “VOICES for Change”, which integrated institutional perspectives with experiences from student organizations and civil society, demonstrating that effective transformation is only possible when all voices are heard in the process.
This final meeting was also a moment to take stock of the work carried out during the COST VOICES Action, reinforcing EEG's position as a space for debate on issues of great social relevance and contributing to a more equitable and representative academia in Portugal and Europe.
