The evaluation of the application is carried out by the course committee on the basis of three criteria A, B and C which quantify respectively (on a scale of 0 to 5) the academic background, the curriculum and scientific activities in the field of mathematics and the quality of the project work.
Criterion A: Academic Background
The score from this criterion is awarded on the basis of the final ranking of the candidates' academic degrees according to Table 1.
For holders of a bachelor's degree and a master's degree (both post-Bologna), the final grade corresponds to the average of the two grades, rounded to the unit;
For holders of a pre-Bologna bachelor's degree or an integrated master's degree, the final grade corresponds to the grade of that course;
For holders of a post-Bologna bachelor's degree, the final grade is the grade of that course.

Criterion B: Personal Curricuum
The merits of the candidate, his/her professional background, scientific work performed, letters of recommendation and motivation, dissemination activities, awards, as well as the candidate's participation in funded scientific projects are assessed.
Criterion C: Scientific project
The merit of the work programme is evaluated based on three parameters: justified relevance of the object of study; scientific quality of the state of the art and methodology of the work programme; feasibility of the work programme.
The final score (PF) is given by the formula
PF=30%A+30%B+40%C
The Course Committee will give a positive evaluation to candidates with
PF>= 3,5.
