Electrospining is a fascinating and versatile nanotechnology technique to produce, functionalize and assemble polymer nanofibers. Aligned fibers with legth of several tens of centimeters and nanometer diameter are extracted from a viscous solution under the action of an intense electric field. The nanofibers enormous variety of applications are due to their ultra-high surface-to-volume ratio, morphological and optical anisotropy and unique mechanical characteristics.
